MTB Viz Privacy Policy

Last updated: June 16, 2026

This privacy policy describes how Traverse Ridge Digital, LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information when you use MTB Viz ("the App"). We built MTB Viz to keep your data on your devices. We have no servers, no accounts, no analytics, and no ads.

Information We Access

Apple HealthKit Data

MTB Viz reads the following data from Apple Health with your explicit permission:

  • Cycling workout records (distance, duration, energy burned)
  • Workout route data (GPS coordinates and elevation)
  • Heart rate samples associated with workouts
  • Date of birth (used only to estimate max heart rate)

This data is read directly from Apple Health on your device. We do not copy it to any external server. It is used solely to display ride visualizations and calculate training metrics within the App.

Data You Create in the App

The App stores ride imports, bike component records, tags, notes, and preferences in a local Core Data store that syncs to your private iCloud account via Apple’s CloudKit. This data is only accessible to you through your Apple ID. We cannot access it.

How We Use Your Information

All data stays on your device and in your private iCloud. We use it only to provide the App’s features: ride summaries, terrain analysis, heart-rate zone breakdowns, and bike maintenance tracking. We do not:

  • Send any data to our servers (we have none)
  • Use HealthKit data for advertising or marketing
  • Sell or share your data with third parties
  • Use your data for data mining or purposes beyond the App’s functionality

Third-Party Services

MTB Viz does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. The only network communication is Apple’s built-in iCloud sync for your private data store.

Data Retention and Deletion

Your data lives on your device and in your iCloud account. Deleting the App removes all local data. To remove iCloud data, use Settings > Apple ID > iCloud > Manage Storage on your device. You can also delete individual imported rides from within the App.

Children’s Privacy

We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. The App requires access to Apple Health, which is managed by the device owner.
